Meet Rob Chestnut ...Born and raised in Lawrence, Rob graduated from Lawrence High and from KU with a bachelor's in accounting and an MBA in finance. He is a third-generation Jayhawk. His parents combined for over 50 years of service to the University of Kansas. In 2006, Rob became the CFO of Allen Press, one of Lawrence's largest employers.
"I’m a businessperson, not a politician. But I think that’s what we need in City Hall now – someone who can wade through complex issues, create consensus and plan for the future. As your City Commissioner, I will be trustworthy and provide common-sense leadership for the betterment of all Lawrence residents." After working for several large corporations, Rob and his wife, Micki, returned to Lawrence in 2001 to raise their three children – Spencer (15), Connor (12), and Madeline (10) – in Rob’s hometown, sharing favorite Lawrence pastimes like KU game days and shopping on Mass St. Micki is a freelance copywriter, columnist and author. Spencer attends Southwest Junior High while Connor and Madeline attend Langston Hughes Elementary. |
Lawrence and the community are very important to Rob. He serves on the KU School of Business and KU Alumni Association advisory boards, supports youth sports, and helps with children's programs at Lawrence Free Methodist Church.
